The Kernel Brewery - Export Stout London 1890 (2024) - 7.5% (330ml)
This is based on a 19th century recipe from the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, which we've adapted and modified. The black malt brings lots of burnt toast, overly roasted coffee flavours, and an assertive acidity. We have started using a little chocolate malt to try and reduce those acrid, burnt flavours, and some crystal malt to bring sweetness to balance the acidity. The resulting beer is dark, dark black. It has an oily texture, loads of rich dried fruit and alcohol warmth, often with hints of leather, tar, smoke and chocolate, and then a herbal hop bitterness on top
The Kernel Brewery - Imperial Brown Stout London 1856 - 9.6% (330ml)
Our Imperial Brown Stout is deceptive, in that it is not a beast of a beer, despite the ABV. Rather you can expect a round and smooth mouthfeel. It all finishes with a long dose of herbal bitterness, with hints of lightly roasted coffee

The finale provides a refreshing, slightly sharp hint that adds harmony and balance. It can also be stored in the wine cellar to taste its evolution over time
Thornbridge - Love Among The Ruins - 7% (375ml)
After using a Belgian yeast strain, we aged the beer in Burgundy barrels with the fruit for well over a year. Adding cultures of Brettanomyces, Pediococcus and Lactobacillus at set points let us sour the beer gradually over many months and give layers of flavour that can only develop over time. The rich fruit aroma and flavours compliment the sharp sourness which subsides for more malt and yeast characters to come through

3, 2 and 1-year barrel-aged, spontaneous, sour beer blended with English raspberries and aged for a further 9 months. Wild funk on the nose; an abundance of raspberries blended in creates rich sweetness, and finishes to a fresh, lightly tangy beer in the style of Framboise
Dominant impressions of latte coffee with powerful chocolate aromas in the nose. The alcohol esters are enveloped with hints of autumn wood, citrus zest (orange, lemon) and freshly baked biscuits. The initial taste is sweetly sinful. Beer and chocolate trapped into one single glass, a liquid milky draught with a backbone of bitter malt. The alcohol warms the throat and, in the finish, you will pick up traces of cloves, citrus, orange and mocha
